Are the SPLA really helping?

Do the SPLA actually help people? Are they there to protect those boys? I don’t think so. On page 134 there is rumor that Adam and his men are stealing food that is ment for the boys in Pinyudo. Jacob noticed Adam and several other SPLA men standing outside of Pinyudo. Jacob hid in the bushes and watched as a relief truck was pulling up. The men stood in front of the truck and pulled the driver out. They then raided the truck and took as much as they could carry. Matthew went after the men and talked with them, explaining that the boys need the food but the SPLA men would not listen to Matthew and told him that the real men who are helping Sudan should have the food not useless teachers. Adam hit Matthew on the back of the head with his gun and walked off with the food. The SPLA men should have their own food supply and leave the boys food along. They should think about it, by feeding the boys now will make them strong so they can become soldiers and fight but instead they are going to starve and there will be no one to fight. Now that Jacob and Matthew know who is taking their food, they will probably do something to stop them. Since the SPLA are taking the food they are making things worse for the people, not better. You would almost be able to call them criminals.

  1. I totally agree with your post, the soldiers are just taking the food but if they would look at the bigger picture they could help built a stronger group of boys who could fight in the war for the SPLA. But you had to see this coming sooner or later because look how long the boys were at the refugee camp the SPLA was bound to take the food or maybe steal lots of boys from the camp. Everyone gets greedy and hungry it's like a whole different side of a person. That person or group will do whatever they can to be happy or full of food. But I really found your blog interesting makes you think if we were in war would are army do the same?
