No time for rest

When I first picked up this book i thought it was going to be about a bunch of boys that run away from the army and were going to try and find home. After i read some of the pages i found out that that is not what that book is about. The book is about a boy named Jacob that lives in a small village with his mom and sister. Jacob has a few friends in his village and they like to play seek and find. One day when Jacob was asleep he woke up with sounds of guns, horses and people taking over his village. Jacob was trying to find his mom and sister but soon someone grabbed his arm and pulled it in the the bush. It was nephew and he said that they had to run away to another village to be safe. Along the way they seen more and more villages on fire with no people or food. They did find an old man and a young girl but the old man was slowing them down a lot. After walking for many days they found another group of boys but it was not just a group it was hundreds of boys. They were all walking to the same place ethiopian for food and water.

  1. In your blog post you alerted us to the fact that Jacob's life was hard and dangerous. The boys had no choice, but to either leave their homelands in hope of a better place or risk dying in the harsh war that plagued their lives. With your examples of what caused the boys no rest you expressed that the boys were almost desperate in what they were doing and would do anything to be safe again even if it meant they couldn't sleep for long periods of time.
